ISAAC Committee Nominations

ISAAC is seeking nominations for the following committees -

  1. Conference Organising Committee

  2. Conference Topics & Speaker Selection Committee

  3. Australian Tree Climbing Championship Organising Committee

  4. Sponsorship Generation and Liaison Committee

  5. ISA Certification Committee

  6. Women of the trees

This is a vital evolution in the operation of ISAAC and a great opportunity for you to contribute to ISAAC, the industry, and to build your own valuable contacts and networks. Please consider nominating for a committee. To nominate, complete the nomination form below. The Board of Directors will make contact with you to advise if you have been accepted onto your nominated committee.

Outline of committee operation

Each committee will comprise 3-6 volunteers. Each committee will have a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson. Also, each committee will be delegated a Director who will function as the committee’s liaison to the Board. It is the intent that Directors will not be the chairperson of any committee. In the case that no chairperson can be found the Board liaison will act as the chairperson until a member is found to take up this position.

The committee will be responsible for producing an annual budget; this budget will be required to include all costs of meetings, teleconferences and other incidentals. This will be submitted to the Board meeting at the annual Strategy and Planning meeting held in July of each year. ISAAC will cover the cost of the chairperson or vice chairperson attending this compulsory meeting. This will generally be held at the ISAAC Office in Adelaide and will run for two days.

The committees will liaise electronically via e-mail or discussion forum and also have teleconferences as required. Some committees may require a one-day in-person meeting once a year to conduct business. In this case ISAAC will pay for return airfare and transfers to the most cost-effective location (usually the city with the most committee members) for those members that need to travel. If a committee member requires accommodation due to the travel distance, the Chairperson of the committee can make a request for the provision of accommodation to the President.
