Singapore Regional Arboriculture Seminar, April 10-11, 2007

The Centre for Urban Greenery and Ecology (CUGE) is an establishment of the National Parks Board,   Singapore. CUGE serves as a regional centre for advancing and sharing knowledge in the usen of greenery and ecology to enhance the urban living environment.

CUGE is proud to present the first Regional Arboriculture Seminar to be held at the Botancy Centre,   Singapore Botanic Gardens, Singapore. The Seminar will be held on 10-11 April 2007 (Singapore Time).

The Seminar will feature arboriculture practitioners in the region, including Australia, Hong Kong/China,   Malaysia and Singapore. We are honoured to have Mr. Lauren S. Lanphear, President-Elect of the International Society of Arboricutlure (ISA), to deliver the Keynote Address for the Seminar.

CUGE is organising the Regional Arboriculture Seminar on 10 & 11 April 2007 (Singapore Time) at the   Botany Centre, Singapore Botanic Gardens.

Registrations now open for the ISAAC Annual Conference - Perth, May 17-19, 2007

 The ISAAC Annual conference will be held at the prestigious Kings Park May 17, 18 and on the 19th Tree Climbing Events to select the Trans Tasman Team.

Our conference will commence at 8.00am Kings Park on the 17th May 2007. This conference is a little different, ISAAC is offering concurrent sessions this year focussing on the Amenity Tree Industry and the Utility Tree Industry.

ISAAC has incorporated a new field day section where delegates will have to opportunity to try, first hand, GPS mapping equipment, Mapping Software Programs, Wood chipper and Chainsaw Demonstrations and Mechanical Care Workshops, EWP Operation and Care Workshops, Ground Penetrating Radars, Sonic Tomography, Resistograpghs, Increment Corers, Fracture Metres, Chlorophyll Fluoresces H - Pea Workshops, Eucalyptus ID workshops, Kings Park Nursery Workshops, Tree Transplanting Workshops, OH&S Workshops, Root Barrier Workshops, Climbing and Rigging Workshops (limit number), Fungi Field ID Workshops, Report Writing Workshops, WOTT Workshops, CATT Workshops, Powerline Clearance Workshops and Tree Risk Analysis Workshops.

On the Saturday the Tree Guild of Western Australia will hold its annual Tree Climbing Championships. ISAAC has invited each state to have their top 3 climbers compete in this event. The top 3 male and 2 female climbers from the preliminary events will be offered the chance for selection in the Trans-Tasman Team to represent Australia in New Zealand in November.

ISAAC is excited about the first Western Australia Conference . Many members said they have never had the opportunity to visit beautiful WA;  well here's your chance.
