Victorian Tree Climbing Championships
2002
Victoria Park, Kew, 24 August, 2002.
A magnificent late winter day arrived as ordered by event organisers Peter Clark and Phil Kenyon. Despite a brisk start, the day warmed up with the competition. More than fifty competitors took part in the Open, B Grade and Women's Competitions. If you are a decent climber, have a go next year as there are some great prizes for event and overall winners.
The finale was an exciting Masters' Challenge in one of the magnificent Eucalyptus camaldulensis in the park. Congratualtions to first time Master's winner Richard Kenyon. The Kilmore clan comes up with yet another champion. Richard and rest of Open Grade top 5 will go on to represent Victoria in the Australian Championships in Melbourne in September.
